Yeşim METİN

Director, Head of Intellectual Property, Patent and Trademark Attorney

Yeşim Metin specializes in intellectual and industrial property. In 2000, she completed her bachelor’s degree education and worked as a food engineer in various food production and packaging companies in R&D, quality, production and laboratory/analysis departments. In 2007, he started to work in the Foreign Patent Department of a leading intellectual property consultancy firm in Turkey and was entitled to become a Patent and Trademark Attorney in 2009. Between 2011-2019, she worked as a manager in the department where she represented foreign clients and acted for thousands of files.

In 2014, she completed the “Praktika Intern – Working with Examiners” program organized by the European Patent Office (EPO) in Munich. She is also preparing for the European Patent Attorney exam and has successfully passed the Paper A.

Yeşim has been the Director of the Intellectual Property and R&D Department at NAZALI since 2019. She provides consultancy on intellectual property issues as well as copyrights, TÜBİTAK incentives, R&D, design center and TDZ.

During her professional representation, she has gained significant experience in the preparation of numerous patent specifications, especially in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, agriculture, air conditioning and various service sectors, as well as in trademark and design matters before the TURKPATENT. She has also specialized in trademark oppositions, EP validation proceedings, patent infringement analysis and FTO reports, and has been involved in the preparation of technical opinions for patent litigation. She has significant experience in plant breeders’ rights applications before the Ministry of Agriculture and customs protection applications before the Ministry of Trade.

Since 2013, she has been attending international conferences and contributing to the ecosystem through her participation in working groups and as an educator.

Yeşim is fluent in English and is a sworn translator before a notary public.
